When NuFeet Medical Pedicures first opened its doors, the world wasn’t ready to talk about the reality of problematic feet. In fact, most people were hiding them; embarrassed, ashamed, and convinced that no one else looked like them.
Then came a radical shift.
Between 2013 and 2014, NuFeet became the first in the industry to boldly post before-and-after photos of real feet on Instagram. From thick nails, discolored toenails, extreme calluses, and all. This wasn’t just about marketing. It was a message: “You are not alone. You deserve care. And you are welcome here.”
That simple act of vulnerability opened a floodgate. People from Georgia to Korea, the Virgin Islands, the UK, and Africa began to connect, relate, and seek help. What started as a single hashtag #medicalpedicures became a global ripple effect. It sparked confidence, inspired practitioners, and changed the conversation around foot health.
“Each year I opened Instagram and saw more pedicurists doing the work I once stood alone in. I watched as the NuFeet movement took root around the world. And I was reminded that it all started with one decision: to show what others were afraid to show.”
