What "Medical Pedicure™" Really Means
At NuFeet Medical Pedicures®, the word “medical” does not mean we diagnose, prescribe, or perform medical procedures. It describes the level of hygiene, safety, and training behind our services. The term is often misunderstood, so we want every visitor to understand what it actually represents.
A Medical Pedicure™ is a waterless, hygienic, and results-focused service performed by a state-licensed nail professional with advanced training who remains fully within their scope of practice. It is designed for clients with thick or discolored toenails and is performed in collaboration with a physician when needed.
Technicians never diagnose or treat medical conditions, instead guiding clients to appropriate care in partnership with a physician. This specialty pedicure follows the highest standards of sanitation, sterilization, and safety, supporting overall foot wellness. Many clients choose this service for peace of mind, comfort, and preventive care.
We do not diagnose, treat medical conditions, or replace medical professionals. When a concern falls outside the nail technician’s scope, we refer clients to a podiatrist or physician. This partnership strengthens the community we serve and ensures clients receive complete care when needed.
The word “medical” reflects our commitment to safety, our advanced education, and our collaboration with healthcare professionals, not the practice of medicine. There is no law that restricts a licensed nail professional from using the term when it is used truthfully and accurately. It is simply a description of a higher standard, backed by training and excellence.
2
Sterilization
A medical pedicure follows strict sanitation and sterilization protocols that exceed state board requirements. It does not diagnose medical conditions, does not treat medical conditions, and does not replace the care of a podiatrist or physician. When concerns fall outside the scope of a nail professional, the client is referred to a qualified medical provider. The term describes a higher standard of cleanliness and education, not the practice of medicine.
